Professional Snapshot

Dr. Eun-Ju Lee is an associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Chung-Ang university medical center. She completed her gynecologic oncology fellowship in 2008 at Samsung medical center and joined the faculty.

Dr. Lee is a doctor with a research career. After finishing a course of residency, she did full time working in laboratory for six years. She discovered many implicated genes in the development of a human uterine leiomyoma and gynecologic cancers, with which she received the award from AACR. She worked as a postdoctoral fellow in M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, working with Dr. Wei Zhang and Dr. John Kavanagh. She studied an oncogene, IGFBP2 in ovarian cancer and was also participated in management of the patients. She worked in Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center with Dr. Michael McClelland and discovered methylation marker to detect the cancer in early stage. Dr. Lee now has focused on discovering exact therapeutic mechanism of Dkk3 in gynecologic cancer and developing the methylation markers to subgroup cervical intraepithelial lesion (CIN). A PhD doctor and a graduate student are working with Dr Lee in her laboratory.

Dr. Lee is also busy clinically performing surgery. She has a particular interest in laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of gynecologic malignancies.
